Update - Community Vehicle Entrance & Exit Gate Repair

Greetings Cromwell Park at Salem Residents,
The Community Vehicle Exit Gate (Exit Lane Vehicle Detection Safety Loop) has been repaired. Because the gates have been inoperable (i.e., Locked Open) for the past 4 months and several new residents (Unit Owners and/or Tenants) have moved into the community, we will delay returning the Entrance/Exit Gates to Normal Operation until next Friday evening (August 21, 2026). This will give all residents, especially our new neighbors, plenty of time to obtain a Gate Remote and complete/submit the proper paperwork to receive an assigned (programmed) 4-Digit Code for the Entrance Gate Call Box. We recommend you plan accordingly to ensure you have a working Gate Remote (check battery) and/or an assigned personal 4-Digit Code to open the Entrance Gate. When the Community Gate System does return to Normal Operation next Friday, the Gates will be programmed to Open at 6 AM and Close at 8 PM (Note: Close time will periodically change throughout the year based on Seasonal Sunset times).
- 4-Digit Code: Note: Due to the limitations of the Gate Telephone Entry System, ONLY one (1) personal 4-Digit Code will be provided for each Condo Unit. If you need a personal 4-Digit Code or experiencing an issue with your current assigned 4-Digit Code, please send a message to our Association Manager (Christa Vires) via the “Contact Us” page on the Cromwell Park at Salem Community Website (www.cromwellparkatsalem.org). As a reminder, you MUST press “#” before entering your 4-Digit Code (Ex. #1234). For security purposes, please DO NOT give your assigned personal 4-Digit Code to Non-Residents (e.g., Vendors, Contractors, Delivery Drivers, etc.); have them use the “CALL” function.

1. Your Guest should Press “A” or “Z” to scroll and locate your Last Name, then Press “CALL”.

Stormwater Retention Pond-Forebay Dredging Project Update (Reminder: Pedestrian Walking Path is Closed)

Greetings Cromwell Park at Salem Residents,
Dragonfly Pond Works completed the Stormwater Retention Pond bank repairs (i.e., regrade, seed, stabilize, etc.) and repaired/reestablished the Pedestrian Walking Path. Although the physical work has been completed, the Pedestrian Walking Path and especially the Stormwater Retention Pond banks require time to settle and stabilize before anyone (e.g., adults, children, pets, etc.) or objects (e.g., bicycles, scooters, strollers, lawn mowers, etc.) accesses/utilizes the Pedestrian Walking Path.
The Pedestrian Walking Path area which has recently been repaired/reestablished will remain CLOSED to all residents until the Walking Path and Stormwater Retention Pond banks are determined to be stabilized and safe for pedestrian traffic. A temporary barricade (i.e., Stakes & Caution Tape) has been placed at both ends of the CLOSED Pedestrian Walking Path area. This area will remain CLOSED for at least 2 weeks depending on how much rain we get and how it impacts the stabilization process. Our Association Manager will send an update email to the community (i.e., all residents) once the Walking Path is safe (open) for pedestrian traffic.

Swimming Pool Contamination Update

Greetings Cromwell Park at Salem Residents,
The Association’s Swimming Pool Maintenance/Service Contractor has performed the necessary Water Quality Treatment procedures and actions to address the recent fecal contamination incident. All water quality tested/measured levels are within the City of Virginia Beach Department of Public Health’s required (acceptable/safe) parameters to operate the pool. The community swimming pool is officially reopened for use by all authorized Cromwell Park at Salem Residents.
As a reminder, any individual (regardless of age) who is not fully toilet-trained or who experiences incontinence must wear a designated, snug-fitting swim diaper or specialized swimwear designed specifically for pool use when entering/using Cromwell Park at Salem’s community swimming pool. Also, please be familiar with and adhere to ALL Pool Rules & Regulations; posted within the pool area and also available on the Cromwell Park at Salem Website (cromwellparkatsalem.org - FAQ’s > "What are the Pool Rules and Regulations?"). Violations of the Pool Rules & Regulations may result in a Due Process Hearing leading to potential fines and/or loss of pool privileges.
In addition to the fecal contamination incident, stones/rocks were found inside the pool (See photos at bottom of this announcement). In the past month (several occurrences), trash/open food items/unauthorized toys were left on the concrete tables and scattered on the pool deck, evidence of glass bottles in the pool area, children kicking/throwing balls which broke the clock, children bringing/parking scooters and bicycles on the pool deck, residents opening the pool gate for people (including children under 14 years old) who did not have a required Pool Pass (Proximity Card), Clubhouse/Pool Bathroom has been trashed (See photo at bottom of this announcement), and umbrellas left open when the occupant(s) left the pool. Further incidents (especially those which cause damage requiring expensive repair costs) and/or unacceptable personal behavior at the swimming pool will result in a Due Process Hearing leading to potential fines and/or loss of pool privileges for the responsible Unit Owner/Resident; and depending on the incident, it potentially may result in the Closing of the Community Pool for the remainder of the Pool Season.
The Cromwell Park at Salem Condominium Association (i.e., All 132 Unit Owners) recently spent $16,250 on necessary structural repairs to ensure the swimming pool would be safe and pass the required Department of Public Health’s Inspection to allow us to operate (open) the pool for all residents to enjoy this summer. Within the last 4 weeks, the Association spent an additional $1,760 to complete necessary replacements/repairs to some of the pool equipment (i.e., Filter valve, Diverter valves, Connectors/Piping on the system’s Suction Side, Pump Filter Basket-Melted, etc.). The Pool Rules & Regulations (e.g., no toys/small objects in the pool area) are in place for a reason.
We understand some of the Pool Rules & Regulations may seem inconvenient, but we appreciate your cooperation to ensure the pool and pool deck area are safe and enjoyable for everyone to use.
